Lombard Toyota Supplies Guidance to Glenbard East High School

(LOMBARD, Ill.) – June 10, 2010 – For years, Glenbard East High School juniors and seniors were able to attend a post-prom party sponsored by the high school. Throughout the community this has been recognized as a successful event to provide students a safe place to go after prom. Four years ago, the event was cancelled indefinitely, until this year. The guidance counselors at the school considered this a vital part of the prom ritual, which provides safety and fun to the students. Local Chicagoland Toyota dealership, Lombard Toyota, was ready to jump in while the school was raising money.

The new and pre-owned Toyota dealership helped bring the students’ costs from $70-$90 per student, down to only $35, with their generous $4,000 donation. The V6 engine Avalon will be the first Toyota car to come straight from the factory in Georgetown, Kentucky with a redesigned gas pedal to ward away any unintended acceleration.

The redesigned 2011 Avalon is the fourth design of this popular Toyota new model. With its spacious interior, the Avalon provides comfort to both driver and passengers alike. The Avalon’s factory standard features include 8-way power driver’s seat, leather trimmed, audio and climate controls, rearview mirror backup camera, moonroof and reclining rear seats. When choosing to purchase the Avalon Limited, customers will enjoy the lavishness of heated and ventilated front seats, rain-sensing windshield wipers, Smart Key system, Bluetooth compatibility and more!

Safety is beyond all others for this vehicle. Not only does the 2011 come equipped with seven airbags, but also with the Toyota Star Safety System. Designed to aid drivers, the Safety System includes vehicles stability control, traction control, anti-lock brake system and brake assist.

“The third generation Sienna will look and drive more like a sedan,” Toyota said in a statement. This mini-van has distinctly American roots, with its design a product of Toyota’s Calty Design Research and its development taking place at the Toyota Technical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The 2011 Sienna comes with a choice of two engines. The 3.5 liter V-6 generates 266 horsepower with an estimated fuel economy of 24 MPG highway and 18 MPG in the city. The 187 horsepower 2.7 liter four cylinder engine is expected to deliver fuel efficiency ratings of 26 MPG highway and 19 MPG city. Both engines get a six speed automatic transmission.

The Sienna will come in five trim levels: a base, LE, SE, XLE and Limited. One of the more intriguing options is a rear seat dual view entertainment center, which uses two displays side by side to create a seamless 16.4 inch wide screen image from a single source. The system can also split the screens individually with input from separate sources. It can be seen from the third row and can be operated from any seat.
