LOCAL CHICAGOLAND TOYOTA DEALERSHIP SPONSORS HIGH SCHOOL POST-PROM PARTY

(LOMBARD, Ill.) – June 10, 2010 – For years, Glenbard East High School juniors and seniors were able to attend a post-prom party sponsored by the high school. Throughout the community this has been recognized as a successful event to provide students a safe place to go after prom. Four years ago, the event was cancelled indefinitely, until this year. The guidance counselors at the school considered this a vital part of the prom ritual, which provides safety and fun to the students. Local Chicagoland Toyota dealership, Lombard Toyota, was ready to jump in while the school was raising money.

The new and pre-owned Toyota dealership helped bring the students’ costs from $70-$90 per student, down to only $35, with their generous $4,000 donation. Held at the Dave & Buster’s in Addison, Illinois, students played games, ate food, and had a fantastic time from 11:30 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. Lombard Toyota leasing and sales consultant, Shannon Mandeldove, stated, “This was a great way for us to help out in the community and know that students had a chance to have fun after the prom festivities.”

As part of Lombard Toyota’s sponsorship, the Chicago new Toyota dealership worked with two Intro to Business classes to create marketing materials to promote the event. The students developed flyers, posters, videos and commercials to entice their fellow classmates to join in on the fun for a fraction of the original cost.

This demographic of young drivers, were able to take a standpoint from the advertising side to promote small events and receive the hands-on marketing experience. Throughout the process, Lombard Toyota was honored with a “Business Partnership Award” for the work they did in DuPage County with Glenbard East High School. Lombard Toyota also sponsored a bowling party for the Intro to Business class, where they raffled off $25-$100 gift cards.
