The Toyota recall repair is as simple as inserting the correct sized spacer in the slot behind the arm assembly. The technician measures each pedal as it is removed and calculates the correct size to use.
(LOMBARD, Ill. FEBRUARY 5, 2010) – Lombard Toyota is in the process of repairing vehicles that are affected by the “sticky pedal” recall. Their technical staff is performing 40-50 repairs per day with the average repair time between 30 and 40 minutes.
The part used to fix the gas pedals is about the size of a postage stamp. The part is currently being inserted into the accelerator mechanism to eliminate the function that causes the problem.
